A beautiful smelling popular bakhoor, gentle to burn and slow to release the Touch Me bakhoor fragrance.

Supplied in 40gm block that looks like a small bar of chocolate, sealed inside foil wrapping and contained in a small peachy-coloured box.

This type of incense should be burnt on coal in an appropriate burner. It may also be burnt on an electric burner. As with all bakhoor of this type, caution should be taken as the bakhoor and coal will become very hot.

What is Bakhoor?

Bakhoor is the arabic word for 'incense' and applies to all forms of incense. However, in Arabia, incense sticks are not as widely used as they are say in India / South East Asia.

Middle Easterners prefer the slow release of the fragrances held within the bakhoor by placing it on hot coals in specially created bakhoor burners. Bakhoor burners vary hugely in size, shape and beauty. They can be very simple unfired, unglazed bowl-type constructions ( functional but undecorated) to peasant-style, rural and quite charming clay burners, to highly decorated metal, wood or even crystal stands. They may or may not have: handles, lids, domed top/ open top. Clay burners may be fired/ unfired or glazed/ unglazed. Many are hand-decorated, some are electric!

Bakhoor burning is very relaxing, purifying and spiritually uplifting. It is also sensual and often the best grade of bakhoor is left for the bedrooms!
