From the Teachings of Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
In Medicine of the Prophet ﷺ, Ibn al-Qayyim wrote:

“Ithmid is the best type of kohl used for the eye, especially for the elderly whose eyesight has weakened. It strengthens the eye and the optic nerve, cleanses wounds, and aids healing.”
