Lessons for the Muslim Family My brothers, Islam then legislated for a Muslim to give a good upbringing to his children, to his sons and his daughters. A good, righteous upbringing. And Allah placed that responsibility around the necks of the fathers. He made a father a shepherd over the members of his household, and Allah will ask him about that. And He made a women a sheperd over her husbands house, and Allah will ask her about how she took care of it.
The prophet (PBUH) said, "Every one of you is a shepherd, and every one of you is responsible for his flock. A man among his family, and he is responsible for his flock. flock. ....." A man is a shepherd, a women is a shepherd, and as a slave is a shepherd. Each one of them must fulfil his specific duties. Allah ordered us to protect ourselves from the Hellfire, and to protect our families from the Hellfire. And we do that by obeying Allah and by ordering our families to obey Allah. " Ward of from yoursleves and your famlies a Fire (Hell)." And put a barrier of protection between you and the Hellfire. Do that by fearing Allah in your own selves and fearing him in regard to your families. Thus order them to do good and guide them to what is right.
The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Every newborn is born a fitrah (i.e., upon Islam). Then his parent make him Jew, make him a christian, or make him a Magian." And he ordered fathers to hasten to order their children to do good, to make them accustomed to doing good, and to make them used to doing good from early age. He orderd fathers even to force their children to do good, so that they become used to it, so that they have a good upbringing, and so that they will be receptive to what is good, loving it, being comfortable with it, and being raised upon it.
