This carefully graded book with 48 Units covers the elements of reading the Arabic script and reading the Qur’an in the ‘UTHMANI SCRIPT with explanations in English.

From the first ‘Quick Start’ Units, those absolutely new to the Arabic script will be amazed by how quickly they can become familiar with the basic features of the Arabic script. The ‘Uthmani script is excellent for teaching/learning the rules of tajwid or precise Qur’anic recitation. Each Unit and each line of Graded Steps in Qur’an Reading is numbered. This makes it easy for class teaching and to follow the accompanying CDs or audiocassettes. Short surahs with translations into English and questions to test the user’s knowledge of tajwid are also given.

Graded Steps in Qur’an Reading shows that the rules of Tajwid are there to make pronunciation easy, naturally free-flowing, and beautiful. A Students’ Edition has the same Arabic text as the Teacher’s/Self-Study Edition but not the English explanations.
